Damn, it's been like 4 years without a journal. Let's fix that. How's everyone been? Did you survive Covid well enough? Is there even anyone left following me that is still active and will see this? I don't plan on posting art here anymore, but who knows... anything can happen. It's been quite some time since the birth of my novel, Neon. Almost exactly five years since that, actually... and yet, it's still not even halfway finished. I guess it's a hobby, after all. If it was a job, I'd have finished it a long time ago. My slowness with my novel is an unholy amalgamation of not wanting the plot to be poorly paced, making sure the characters+lore is consistent and generally just being extremely worried I'll fuck up a part in the beginning and set up the later portions for failure (like writing myself into a corner somehow/creating big irreversible mistakes). Still plugging along though, however long it takes to complete. It's a bit of a shame that plenty of my friends on this site

Pretty much none of my artwork really got any attention at all, no matter how hard I tried. Nobody else really talks to me on this site anymore anyway. Even a few of them that I used to talk to in like 2014/2015/2016 have gone inactive. One deactivated, and another still comes online (even as recently as a few months ago) but never replies to anything because uhhhhh fuck me, I guess?? I was going through my old direct messages in this place, and I cannot for the life of me figure out what I could have possibly done wrong. I've gone through some personal growth these past years, and... I'm so fucking sick and tired of it. It feels like...
